Daily Dose!

Hi All,

Hope everyone is ready for the upcoming Christmas Holiday! The kids are definitely ready for a break after pushing incredibly hard to get their first-ever, college-level, 5-or-more paragraph essay completed. Great work everyone, you definitely earned the break.

************* CREEPER SHIRT PICTURE TOMORROW**************

Please remember to put your creeper shirt in your bag (or wear it), so we can take a group shot. If you do not want to wear your Creeper T-shirt all day, you can just bring it in your bag. Please remember that we have a ½ day, so that all students will be able to change at home in the afternoon before the evening WINTER CARNIVAL SHOW.

Attached you find the rubric used to score the students on their writing assignments. We have broken down the summative-assessments into 2 groups: rough draft and final copy. The students also made several videos to explain life cycles in their own words.  We are planning to build both a digital and a hardcopy portfolio, so we will request that the students bring a handy-drive/USB (4 to 8 gigabytes), so they can save them forever.

Thursday night is Winter Carnival. The students will be performing at least 2 songs for everyone to enjoy. Please try to where black or white pants and green and/or white shirts, cute Christmas cap or other Christmas flare are optional.

Friday is no school for the students, so please do not send them in as teachers will be in meetings all day.
