Daily Dose

Hi Grade Four Friends,

We have a big day tomorrow with our annual NIS, International Day celebrations. This will be a good time to talk further about the camping trip we are planning during late February.

We are planning to take a trip to a national park called, “Misty Sky Waterfall” National Park. They have cabins and tents are available too. The total cost will only be 500 to maybe 1,000 THB max (non-profit operation). This does not include transportation, but it includes food and lodging.

There are 4 cabins that sleep 15 people each, and these cost 1,500 THB each. This is enough beds for 60 people to sleep. I imagine many children will want to rent tents, and this is a good idea. Tents are about 250/night, but I am not sure how many these sleep yet.

The trip will be a two days and one night; we will depart in the morning of either February the 14th or 28thth (we can make this decision at the planning meeting)
We will spend all day Saturday, Saturday night and about ½ of the day on Sunday before returning.
Food will be prepared for us, and we encourage everyone to load up on snacks, drinks and even some party/junk food. We are also hoping to plan a pot-luck component to the trip, so that we can have a chance to taste a special dish that each family enjoys. We can discuss further at the planning meeting and tomorrow at International Day.
We also plan to make s’mores which are traditional, North American, camping snacks made over a campfire.
This trip will not be an NIS program, so all children must come with a parent, guardian or find another grade-four family that is willing to take responsibility for your child. Myself and Mr. Derick are attending as participants, and will be responsible for our own children. We will participate and help plan and work just any other parent. We will work together with parents to plan and coordinate the entire event, and we are looking for parents who would like to work together with us to plan this overnight family adventure into the jungle…
We will be available to talk tomorrow at International day. Mr. Mark, Mr. Derick, Khun Air, Khun Pim, Khun Ben and I think a few other have already offered to help plan and execute this for the kids, but we are putting an invite out to everyone who wants to join the planning.
